Puppet Making and Puppet Show
Make your own zero waste puppet and help make a show with Sheila Anderson
We will be upcycling rubbish and textiles to make zero puppets. Why not bring along some of your own rubbish from home too. 2 litre milk cartons are useful! Children's Nature and Heritage Crafts
Join Stephanie Walker from the councils Heritage project
The activities will re-purpose materials and have heritage themes related to Penicuik – Romans, Georgians and Victorians. You can drop your child off and leave them for these sessions, you will need to leave a contact name and number. (Required PVG and risk assessments in place.)

With local sewing expert Christine Finlayson
From the basics of getting to know your machine through to making your own clothes. These classes can cater for complete beginners through to experienced sewers. We will be re-using and upcycling old textiles to make new things and learning mending techniques. No need to attend all classes. To add your name to the waiting list just drop us an email.

Get your bike checked and fixed for free at our maintenance sessions
We are funded to deliver Bike maintenance to get your bike back on the road or trail.
We have a stock of basic parts such as inners tubes, cables and brake pads. We are unable to provide additional parts but can help you source them and we can fit them.

Crochet Classes - Fully Booked
Thursday evening crochet classes with Sylvia Cairns upcycling donated wool into beautiful things!
This class is suitable for all abilities from complete beginners to more experienced crocheters. We will have a selection of donated wool and crochet needles available but if you want to bring your own please feel free. No need to book all 4 classes if you don't want to.
These sessions will take place at at 34 John Street - Covid-19 measures are in place and participants will be asked to wear a mask and socially distance.

Can you use your creativity to show how Penicuik could tackle Climate Change?
Penicuik Carbon Challenge are looking for artworks which show a positive vision of a greener future.
Entrants must be a primary school pupil in the EH26 postcode, with their parent/carer’s permission.
Submit your poster, photograph, collage, or other artwork by 5pm on 17.08.21 to .
