Good Food Conversations

Local? Organic? Grow your Own? Are you interested in exploring with others the carbon emissions and environmental impact of the food we eat and how we can eater better food for the planet and ourselves?  This will be a friendly and informal session with tasty recipes and tips that asks the question: How can a sustainable diet be affordable and accessible?

Nature Connection and Foraging Walks

Join us on a Saturday morning in a family friendly wander to explore new and familiar areas of Penicuik to learn about the nature on our doorstep

Grow Your Own

Are you a beginner or an experienced gardener looking for fresh ideas?  Growing your own food is a fun way to reduce your carbon footprint, get healthier and deepen your connection to what you eat. 

Plan Your Garden:  Tuesday 18th January 6.30pm-8.30pm

Introduction to Permaculture: Saturday 19th February 10am – 4pm

Beginners Grow your Own: Tuesday 8th March 6.30pm-8.30pm

Using Compost Worms: Tuesday 15th March 6.30pm-8.30pm

PCC Sewing Workshop

Six places available (3 to new participants)

Learn to use a sewing machine, to cut out a pattern, replace a zip, create a waistband and hem your personal or household garments. Learn how to go from start to finish with your dressmaking on either

Saturday 22nd January from 10 – 4pm     Or     Sunday 6th February from 10 – 4pm

Carbon Challenge Crochet Classes

Up to 8 places available (four for new participants)

Beginner & Mixed ability Thursday 7 – 9 pm.   January 27th & February 3rd, 10th and 17th.

PCC Joinery Workshop

Six places available. Come to 34 John St and learn how to strip down wooden pallets to create flower and vegetable planters for local communities and schools.

Bike Maintenance

Bring your bike along to be fixed or checked by a bike mechanic.  Basic parts provided. Drop-in session (no booking required)
